Plastic Surgery Boutique in Miami, FL

Dr. Anne-Sophie Lessard is a double board-certified plastic, cosmetic and hand surgeon. She has been in practice for over 10 years and is a leading expert in breast and body contouring surgeries such as breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, revision of breast surgery, abdominoplasty, high-definition liposuction, mommy makeover, vaginal rejuvenation, arm and thigh lifts, Botox, fillers and many more surgical and nonsurgical treatments. Her various accomplishments include becoming certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The arduous examination process for certification consisted of a written examination followed by an oral examination covering a compilation of all the cases she had performed over nine months. A minimum of 50 cases was required for this period of time, but Dr. Lessard was so busy that she accumulated a total of 230 cases. She is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, which sets the standards for quality patient care. These standards improve the care of surgical patients in an optimal and ethical practice environment and are used by hospital and surgical practices worldwide.

Dr. Lessard completed her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious McGill University, the Harvard of Canada. McGill is ranked as the top university both nationally and worldwide. Following residency, she pursued an advanced postdoctoral fellowship in hand and reconstructive microsurgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Afterwards, she worked at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for three years in the division of plastic surgery as an assistant professor. In this role, she performed intricate surgeries from head to toe, including breast, body and hand reconstructive surgeries that only a few surgeons in the world can perform. She was also responsible for teaching and shaping future plastic and hand surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Lessard worked at the Veteran Affairs hospital treating the most complex reconstructive cases for wounded United States veterans.

Dr. Lessard is an avid scholar with extensive national and international scientific publications in leading medical journals that push the boundaries of the field of plastic surgery, such as Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Hand Clinics, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open. In her publication, “Free Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Flap After Abdominal Liposuction: Reconsidering Contraindication,” Dr. Lessard was able to prove that breast reconstruction using a perforator flap was possible after abdominal liposuction. In August 2021, she also published “Treatments for Aesthetic Hand Rejuvenation: A Systematic Review of the Literature” in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. This article offers guidance for aesthetic surgeons on different treatment options for hand rejuvenation that represent a developing area in aesthetic surgery and address volume atrophy and superficial wrinkling. She has also written textbook chapters, given multiple podium presentations at different national and international conferences. Additionally, she has improved the plastic surgery field via peer review, which is a difficult process due to the stringent criteria that candidates must uphold.

Dr. Lessard has successfully peer reviewed multiple prestigious journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open, WOUNDS: A Compendium of Clinical Research and Practice and Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Lessard has been extensively involved in different prestigious committees of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), as well as the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS).

Dr. Lessard is a leader in plastic surgery and one of the most sought-after plastic surgeons in Miami. She was recently chosen as a Young Leader by the ASSH for her commitment to her field. She is also a recipient of the O-1 and EB-1 visa, which the US government only gives to people of extraordinary ability in their respective fields, usually Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winners. She is an artistic surgeon dedicated to the care of her patients who puts natural beauty at the forefront of her practice while tailoring each surgery to each patient. She is knowledgeable, empathic and a great listener. Her professionalism, masterful standard of care and outstanding bedside manner make patients feel comfortable, creating a great doctor–patient relationship.
